I just saw that The Vines recently posted a MySpace blog about signing peta2's Canadian seal hunt petition (along with Jet). Add them to your friends (if they aren't already), and comment on how much you support them and their love for baby seals! And if you haven't already, sign the petition to put an end to the Canadian seal hunt for good.

stop!! those cute little babies dont need to be clubbed! They are little helpless animals, would you like it if we were seals and the humans slaughtered us. i bet you would want to live to see the earth.. so treat seals with respect and leave them alone!!!!

Posted by: nikki at May 20, 2008 3:32 AMThe government has to do it. Listen, I'm Canadian. The fish stocks are so low on the Atlantic it is very hard to bring them back. The seal is one of their main predators. If we don't kill the seals then the fish on the Atlantic are pretty much screwed (the regulations won't work if the seals keep eating the fish). So less seals = less fish being consumed = hope for a stronger fishing industry. Besides, many people lost their jobs once the fishing industry halted. I am in favour of more human ways of kill instead of beating them savagely, such as a bullet to the head.
