STOP...Sandwich Time May 15, 2007

As a special treat on "British Sandwich Week" here's a guest blog from peta2 UK's Violet...

Martin has informed me that it's British Sandwich Week and therefore we as "British" people have to talk about sandwiches all week (it's proving a real challenge making calls to publicists!). Martin has also informed me that I have to write about sandwiches for you. Since I am on a strict diet (my boyfriend took great pleasure in eating this sandwich in front of me!) this is very hard for me so please bear with me...

Since curry is Britain's favourite food (according to the very reliable source that is The Sun) today's sandwich is an onion bajhi sandwich! Erm...yum?!

It's made from onion bajhi, thinly sliced cucumber (on the angle—that looks fancier), crispy lettuce, some kind of delicious hummus, and of course, 2 slices of bread and I definitely did NOT buy it from a shop! So don't even start! Here I am, with my new red hair, holding the sandwich (but not eating it).

In other sandwich-related news: "Cranks" are a new company (stocked by Waitrose—my supermarket of choice) that make only vegetarian sandwiches! There are tons of vegan choices too and I highly recommend the falafel wrap.

Now go forth little chefs, the time for talking is over. The time for sandwiches is upon us. For my next blog, I will be considering what kind of sandwich Jack Bauer would eat. Discuss.
