Save the Cheerleader, Save the Whales April 9, 2007

hayden%20p%20with%20credit%20sm.jpgWhen Heroes star Hayden Panettiere's not busy saving the world as the indestructible cheerleader Claire Bennet, she's busy saving the whales. Sure she's also working on movies, finishing school, hanging with friends and her BF—Laguna Beach reality celeb turned MTV VJ— Stephen Colletti, shopping, you know, doing all that fun stuff that girls like to do, except with a much bigger budget than most of us have. (And speaking of shopping, there were lots of sales going on this weekend so yours truly indulged a bit and bought 8 pairs of shoes. What?! It was only 8 pairs, that's not even my personal record for a whole day's shopping. Plus they were all on sale—like $7!—and I needed them so it's totally OK.) The perky starlet has joined forces with the Whaleman Foundation to raise awareness about how horrible whaling is, not only for the whales but for other sea life as well. In this month's Girl's Life, Hayden said that she and some of her fellow Heroes cast mates took part in an LA event to protest a pro-whaling conference that was taking place in Japan. She told the mag, "[Whaling] is the most repulsive, disgusting, cruel thing I've ever seen. I've seen how it's done, and its cruelty to animals." She's right, it is hideous. If you haven't seen it already, check out Hayden's PSA for SaveTheWhalesAgain.org.

Remember, save the cheerleader, save the world whales.

I am happy that this woman went the xtra mile to try her best to help the innocent dolphins. She is so brave, and kind hearted. I am happy that this is out for people to see, though it is disturbing to say the least, the public need to know. Who eats dolphin meat? Or do they kill them because the dophins eat fish THEY WANT TO KILL AND SELL???? Also, the sword fish is another that is brutally killed. I wont eat any.

I AM SO HURT AND DISTURBED BY WHAT I JUST SAW. I'M HAPPY THAT HAYDEN BROUGHT MORE ATTENTION TO WHAT IS TAKING PLACE IN JAPAN AND NORWAY. SHE USED HER CELEB. STATUS FOR GOOD.I HAVE TO ADMIT, I WOULD NEVER HAVE KNOWN WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO THOSE PEACEFUL, BEAUTIFUL CREATURES IF IT WASN'T FOR ALL THE PRESS EXPLOITING HAYDEN'S BREAKDOWN. MY HEART ACHED AS I SAW THE OCEAN OF BLOOD AND HAYDEN TALKING ABOUT THE BABY DOLPHIN THAT LOOKED UP AT HER BEFORE THEY HAD TO FLEE. WHAT CAN I DO? I FEEL SO HELPLESS. I WANT TO HELP. I CAN DONATE A LITTLE MONEY AND A LOT OF TIME. I AM OUT OF WORK AT THE MOMENT. I AM A HUGH ANIMAL LOVER. ALL MY ANIMALS COME BEFORE ME. I'D GO HUNGRY BEFORE I LET MY ANIMALS STARVE. I TRULY FELT HER PAIN.

We think it is evil what japanese fisher men do to these poor things. The JAPS need to know that these big beautiful creatures that they are killing are living things too. They wouldnt like it if lods of whales and dolphins started killing them just for some stupid tradition. What are they going do when these animals have all gone. I dont know how people can do this they are beautiful creatures and the dolphins do save your life. They could sill stop the tradition before they are too late.
