KFC's Latest Menu Additions: Blood and Rats February 24, 2007

By now most people know that KFC tortures chickens, but apparently the problems with the restaurant chain don't stop there. It seems that KFC doesn't really do such a good job in the cleanliness department. (In my opinion, if you eat their food you might as well be licking the inside of a toilet at a truck stop.) Be warned, the following stories might make you projectile vomit ...
Last week, a man in North Carolina found what appears to have been blood in his order at KFC. According to ABC in Raleigh ...
Nathan Toothman says he ordered three snack size sandwiches from a Cary KFC, the first and second one no problems, but when he opened the third, he stopped eating. He said, "The light just happened to hit the wrapper just right, and I knew immediately what it was." Blood is what Toothman thinks was on his Kentucky Fried Chicken wrapper.
He took the wrapper back to the KFC and showed it to the manager. He says he was met with nothing but evasiveness and defensiveness.

Tasty huh? Mmm ... blood! Hold on, it gets better. This week, a KFC in Greenwich Village, New York, was closed by the Health Department due to the fact that it is infested with rats, and has been for nearly three years. Just last December, the city's Health Department cited this KFC for evidence of "live rats present in the facility's food and non food areas." One former employee of the Greenwich Village restaurant had this to say when he spoke to CBS in New York:
"I quit because it was nasty. They don't use gloves to make the food. They use the same grease day after day after day. At night, the manager told me to put the chairs up. We don't sweep; we don't mop. So that's what the rats are eating off, the stuff that's left on the floors," said Marcus Bonner, who claimed to be a former employee.

This is not the first time KFC has been caught violating health and safety regulations. Just last year, KFC was fined nearly $50,000 for a "poisoning risk" after KFC staff were found to be wearing filthy uniforms and not washing their hands. There's even a Web site, KFCMadeMeSick.com, where people can post their horror stories from eating at KFC.
What it all comes down to is this: KFC cripples birds by pumping them full of drugs, then scalds them in boiling water and slits their throats while they're still alive. More than 850 million birds are killed for KFC's restaurants each year. Is it really all that surprising that a company which doesn't care about animals also doesn't seem to care about the health and safety of their customers?

I dearly hope that anywasy who eats a at KFC knowing the sircumstances gets some kind of disease or poisoning. I hope the burn in hell.

Posted by: shawna at March 3, 2007 12:03 AMThe horrible thing? Thousands, millions of people are still eating these things EVERY DAY...ugh! People are disgusting, since when did blood stop carnivores before? I always see people eating steaks dripping with blood which they use to dip their bread in.
PS: Jeez, 3 "snack wraps", that guy must be one obese meat-eater.
Posted by: Brianne at March 3, 2007 1:17 AMI ate at kfc only once(before I went veg) I was 7 years old and I got some popcorn chicken or something I took one bite of the first one and imeaditly spit it out. Not only was it under cooked but it looked like it was rotten. Honestly the most discusting thing I have ever seen! The fact that pepople still eat there is sick!!
Posted by: Jordan at March 7, 2007 6:16 PMI think that the corporate greed of the restaurant owners gets in the way of their judgment and prevents them from seeing the errors of their ways - like eating meat.
Posted by: Roy at March 9, 2007 2:32 PMIm SO glad I went vegitarian :)
Posted by: Caitlin at May 24, 2007 4:05 PMIm SO glad I went vegitarian :)

Posted by: meg at July 5, 2007 5:11 PMYEAH!!! This is absolutely gross, but I think this should happen to EVEYRONE who eats KFC, in order to show them that its nasty to eat animals, ESPECIALLY from KFC.
Noone will realize that KFC is the most disguesting thing ever until they find a feather or blood in their food.
::gags::
I'm going to show my family this, because right now, I'm the only vegetarian in my family.
Posted by: Nisa at March 30, 2008 1:12 PMmy friend told me that long ago, Kentucky Fried Chicken was breeding chickens with 3 legs cuz they were always running out of leg portions... Whether this is true or not, I don't know, but she said that is why they had to change their name to KFC vs. Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Wow. I live like not far from the Greenwich Village KFC. My dad saw that on the news and told me. I used to eat there before I went veg. Jesus Christ, it was disgusting though.
