R.I.P. George Clooney's Pig December 5, 2006

Max and George, kickin' it.

Sad but true: George Clooney's beloved pot-bellied pal, Max, the Star, has died at the ripe old age of 18."He was as old a pig as the vets had ever seen. I was really surprised, because he's been a big part of my life," George told USA Today. Max lived a pampered life, sharing George's bed and often appearing in interviews with him. All pigs should be so lucky (about the pampering that is). He's said that his 18 year relationship with Max—who he acquired after his break up with actor Kelly Preson (a.k.a. Mrs. John Travolta) almost 20 years ago—was the longest he's ever had. How these women continue to let him slip through their fingers I will never know. I'd hold on for dear life. He'd have to serve me with eviction papers to get me out of the Villa de Clooney in Italy. Think about it, lounging by the pool with George (and, until recently, Max) without a care in the world ... sigh.

In other pig news, Pink's on a crusade to save pigs who are being killed for food. Our fave kick-ass pop star told the press, "I wanna rescue pigs. The ones that are about to be eaten, they're the ones I wanna rescue." She just never stops, and thank goodness she doesn't, because the pigs need all of the help they can get. So love pigs, don't eat them!
