Purging Day! September 14, 2006

Posted by nc | Permalink | Comments ( 3 )

Whew! Today is purging day at the office so that means we are cleaning everything from top to bottom! I'm talking dusting, organizing, purging, the whole nine yards. My desk is so clean I can see my reflection in it. No lies!

In the midst of all of this cleaning we have unearthed a few prizes for us to giveaway. First up we have 5 CDs from Isolated. They're a vegan hardcore/metal band featuring Scott Crouse of Earth Crisis and Path of Resistance fame. To win one of these gems you need comment below and tell us what you have done recently for animal rights and why you deserve one.

Awesome.

Now I know discmans have gone the way of the buffalo, but we found two brand new portable CD players that we are going to include as prizes for the two best comments. Each winner will also recieve some other sweet goods that we have piled on our desks like buttons and stickers.

Help animals and help make our work space nice and tidy!

I just recently became a vegitarian, and I have been desperately trying to convince my family that they should too! It's sadf that they won't listen and keep eating animals that can't save themselves, and I wish that I could show them that there's something to do that would help the entire world. I've also recently learned a lot about the population problem the world has, and what people can do to help control it. Today in the class that information came from, this fellow in a video said that his family had consumed over 5,000 pounds of meat in 20 years! I thought about that and nearly vomited, that's not a statistic that I want to have associated with my name. And since I'm vegitarian. . . I won't!

I went from full blown carnivour to vegan in one day. My husband did it with me and we have have been complete vegans for 12 weeks. We donated all the food in our house at that time to a local shelter (we thought throwing it away would be like them dieing in vien). Now we cook vegan meals for our friends and show them the literature in hopes of converting others. With all the fake meats and delicious vegan cheeses out there... there is NO excuse to continue eating animals.

So just two days ago, I happened to turn a friend of mine vegan, just by letting her know about the health benefits, and showing her some of the free food/starter kit offers and giving her a couple leaflets and stickers. *counts that as her entry to win the free things of goodness...* how do we know if we win?
